Seaside Beauty Essentials!

"The sun is shining, all around me, children playing, having fun, it's the season for love and understanding, merry summer everyone!" (;

Hello my lovelies! So today my family decided to completely disrespect the blogging schedule they didn't know about and whisk me off to the seaside... therefore I have not had time to put together the high fashion piece I scheduled! However, I refuse to let you go without a post so here's my seaside makeup tutorial and some of my adventures by the sea!

I am a typical British person- it's 'always cold' and I'm always moaning about it and when it is hot, it's too hot! This heat wave has pretty much put me off wearing any make up on at all but I made a teeny effort to go to the coast!

My Seaside Beauty Essentials

Barbara Daly's Pressed Powder in 'soft linen'

Now, if I'm honest I'd actually recommend using a BB cream instead as they
are a lot lighter on the skin and even contain SPF, but unfortunately mine has run out.
Though, this was long-lasting and served me well for the day!

MUA Bronzing Powder

Ruby Recommends Blush Duo

Okay, so I wouldn't call these essentials, but they have become my comfort blanket over the last few months and I just couldn't resist brushing a bit on!

'high lights' by technic

Again, not essential but I love the look of the sun beaming onto the highlights defining your face and making you look beautifully radiant!

Vaseline
I used this to keep my eyebrows tidy and to soften my lips so they don't get chapped in the sea breeze.
Barbara Daly lipstick in 'sugar cane'
Lipcote

I then took the lipstick of my choice- of course to match my outfit- and put on a coat of Lipcote on top to make sure it didn't melt off in the gleaming sun!

'They're Real' mini mascara
Mascara is a must in all scenarios if I am honest though for this particular occasion I would of preferred a waterproof one, though to be honest it didn't run or melt at all even when the day was at its hottest so its waterproof isn't essential!

Charlie Body spray in 'Touch'

'Sure' Anti-perspiring deodorant

Of course Deodorant!!! It may not stop you sweating in this kind of heat because that wouldn't be healthy but you want a bit on so you don't stink either! Sorry to put it that bluntly but you know I'm right, right?(; I also sprayed a little body spray on just to make sure!

There you have it, my beauty kit made ready for that ocean spray!

_________________________________________________________________________

Unfortunately I am having trouble adding any more photos so I will open another one to share my adventures at the seaside!!!

T, xo

Lazy Monday- Thoughts Sessions #001 Happiness

Hello my beautiful readers,

Just lately I've been feeling a bit down, a little depressed and I think I'm coming into that stage in life where I just don't know who I really am... I'm constantly changing, constantly moving, (even when I feel like the worlds stopped), and I'm constantly looking for complete and utter happiness I suppose.

I wrote a something a while ago, that I thought would help inspire me to keep searching and help me keep the hope... It is so important to be happy, so I thought I'd share it with you, just incase you need a boost.. And if you don't well a top up of hope will do you good anyway!

"Happy endings. Do they exist?
                                          No.
If you have to ask yourself then no, it's a hungry tiger feeding on all of your hopes and dreams; it's a vile trick of nature played upon you day after day, just to make you believe it's real; it is mentally and physically impossible and you shall die sad and alone... That is, if you have to ask yourself.
You see, life isn't like the movies you see on the big screens, or Eastenders, or Coronation street- I learnt that the hard way- but I suppose you may know that already.

Life is a deep well of desire, despair, hope and glory, happiness, loneliness, sadness and joy, love, lust and creativity which sucks the emotion from your soul as it makes you laugh, cry, lustful and suicidal, fearless and horrified- but life doesn't have to have to win: life doesn't have to control us. Life gave us nothing but one thing: choices.

You may choose to have your happy ending, but if you don't give life the determination to survive on, it will feed on every other emotion you feel and portray until the day you die... So stop reading, get up and do something towards your Happy Ending!"- Trulie H

So there you have it, you don't need to do anything other than be determined to LIVE! No matter what direction you choose... I hope you enjoyed our first Lazy Monday- Thoughts session,
                                                                                                                          Love you lots, T xo

Quick Makeup Snippet!

Hey beautiful boys and girls, soo I told you I would be taking part in the school fashion show didn't I? Well yes, I have to emphasise I am nooot a model! Nuh uh, I wish I had the figure for it but its just not goin to happen but it wasn't that bad.... I was soo nervous- shaking even which isn't like me but I did it! Yay! It's been my goal to do something I don't want to do for a good reason and enjoy it and I did so there we go!

Unfortunately, because of the safe guard policy I couldn't get any photos, however before the fashion show I did my hair and make up at home so I thought I could share that with you to 'make up' for the catwalk photos being a miss - see what I did there.. Ahaa!

If you want a full tutorial just let me know! It's a very dramatic look, but you can't be too dramatic for catwalk (;

What I used:
FACE
-2true concealer
-Barbara Daly mousse foundation in soft linen
-Barbara Daly pressed powder in warm ivory
-MUA bronzer
-Ruby recommends blush (sorry no name, but it's a palette with a pretty rose pink and a peach yellow colour- I dip my blush brush in both and add to apples of my cheeks)
- Technic Highlighter
EYES
-MUA eye primer
-front cover shadow stick
- coal black, golden brown, sparkling champagne and silver grey colour eyeshadows from:
-MUA pencil liner
- 2true black liquid liner
Rimmel London white pencil liner
- NYC mascara
LIPS
-MUA shade 13 -2true colour drench lipgloss No 10 -lipcote
My hair was simply straightened, and then the section on top, towards the back of my head is back combed and gripped with a little 'poof' to add height and volume (:
I also used Umberto Giannini SLEEK & CHIC Seriously Straight Anti-Frizz Serum to add take away frizz and add shine (:

Hope this was ok, very brief, but I hope you like!
Love you my adorbs,
Lulu, xxx

Ps sorry the last pic is dark :( I was rushing round like a mad woman!

My Perfect Excuse!

Hey beautiful, so I realise that a may have been neglecting my little fledgeling of a blog just a tad recently. Well, I know what you're thinking... She's going to come up with some lame excuse like she's had a monster cold or she's been too busy collecting rocks and sipping tequila- well no, this time I do have a pretty, perfect excuse!

So... You guys may or may not know I am studying fashion and textiles for GCSE and due to serious illness I had a lot of catching up to do to get all my coursework done AND make a dress before the deadline put in place by the exam board. Well, it wasn't easy and I had to use a lot of will-power, late nights and determination to get me through it all but it's done! Every single last research, analysis and evaluation piece is finito and so is my dress and I have to say though it was a struggle and I was pushed for time I have thoroughly enjoyed the process and can't wait until I start my A-levels- Hopefully leading to  me getting out there and doing it in the real world! However, that's a looooong time from now!

Anyway, as I have been neglecting all you beautiful girls and boys I thought it was only fair if you decide if my selfish neglect was worth it!

My dress is inspired by the Parisian culture- mostly the Moulin Rouge and the hand embroidery is inspired by the structure of the Eiffel Tower! So tell me what you think of - 'Fierce French Maiden'!

The original Final Design
...and after a long process or researching further, adjusting and modifying

THE FINAL PRODUCT  ♥†

The hand embroidery ♥

So as you can see I decided to have a theme to my photo  shoot, where I was a high way woman, with a (FAKE) gun! If I'm totally honest this was my least favourite part- I love setting up photo shoots and the make up and all that jazz but I prefer to be behind the camera! Tomorrow I have to walk this dress down the catwalk for our school fashion show and I'm bricking it! :S

Sooo... That is that I guess! As I said I thoroughly loved the entire process, especially the bit where I got to draw out all my designs and ideas!

Let me know what you think!

Love you all!

Wallflower

So I was scrolling through Tumblr and I came across this picture. Then I realised, it actually describes what I have become... I am too afraid to stand up and stand out because I am not society's version of perfect. I've really had enough of feeling like this so here it is... I am standing up to society and showing my so- called ugliness to the world and if they don't like it they can shove off because I am my own version of perfect and judging me just adds to their imperfections, it can't effect me... It won't stop me. If you're feeling down and want the world to accept you for who you are stand up with me and hold my hand...we'll protect each other! We made it this far, don't give up, leave me a response with #Truliie'ssurvivors

#mylittlesurvivors

You are b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l, okay? So, I've been letting the little things get to me this past one or two weeks.

Basically, they increased the dose of one of the tablets I take and it's the one the gives me a puffy face, like it swells because the tablet makes you gain weight and retain water... I've been called fat before but I'm not because I can't control it with diet, it's swelling. It doesn't jiggle or anything it's just there and I HATE IT.

I'm not here to tell you a sob story, I just wanted to tell you; you are beautiful, weather you think you're too skinny, too fat, too tall, too spotty, too small, too whatever, you're not, you're perfect because you are you and society is just turning into this huge indoctrinating monster that we must ignore. You don't need big, wavy, shiny, perfect hair or the biggest, sparkly eyes and perfect complexion... you need to be you.

Go ask your mum, your dad, your friends, if they think you are beautiful. I guarantee you, they will tell you that you are and if by chance your friends say no, then sorry, they are not your friends and they aren't worth your beauty.

I don't know why I decided to write about this to be honest, but, I think this message is important... if you don't believe you are beautiful, why should anyone else and even if you still refuse to believe that you are, trust me on this one- be who you are and soon everything will fall into place. I promise. I NEVER break a promise.

PS. Did you know I write songs? Well, like I said I've been going through a rough patch and just feeling generally worthless so I wrote this to get it out and just to figure out where I am at and I've decided that life is too short. I didn't go out tonight because I felt too ugly, what is the point in that, I'm fifteen and missing out on life and I am the only one stopping myself because of the way I am feeling. So I have to stop telling these white lies and tell the truth and just be me and I want you to do the same #mylittlesurvivors

(my song is on my ipad so subscribe and I'll post the link ASAP) Love you guys

Spring Time Pamper! &Photoshoot

Hello my lovelies, (Really, I'd love to give you all one of those cute little nicknames! Suggestions?)

So... As promised I am back with a post full of goodness and all things BEAUTY! Eeeep!

Okay, if you didn't know alreadfy I loooove doing fashion shoots! I always get new, exciting ideas for outfits and make up looks that I really can't find a place to wear and also ideas for props and set designs just pop into my head so this gives me the peeerrrfect oppotunity to make some use of them and show them off.

My friend, Gemma, (pictured below) loves modelling so one day we were just like 'LET'S DO A PHOTO SHOOT!' So we did and here are the results alongside my little article on what pamperiffic thingymabobs I'm using this spring! Enjoy and don't forget to RATE, COMMENT, SUBSCRIBE... pretty please!(;

This week YoursTruliie decided it was time to get cleaned up and start fresh, we want to forget the bleakness of the winter, which is, slowly, fading away and let the flowers bloom into something pure and beautiful! As always we want all of you guys to join in this little cleansing ceremony so here are a few of our best tips!

Add caption
NUMBER 1. Light a candle, (or twelve)! Why not try one proven to help calm and relax the mind? This will help you wind down from the chores of the long day!
We used ...

NUMBER 2. Fill your bath so deep you can almost touch the water from the other side of the room! Okay so this one isn't very environmentally friendly but you deserve it just this once, you don't want the to flood the place but you do want to be completely soaked in your fave bubbles, the soapy kind not the alcoholic ones, they may come later!(;
We reccomend LUSH's Think Pink Bath bomb for a funky bright pink bath!> https://www.lush.co.uk/product/428/Think-Pink-Bath-Bomb

NUMBER 3. Set up your fave body treats in a line alongside your bath, you don't want to end up being half way through your regal relaxation befpre finding out you need to stand up and stretch across the room to the cupboard to retrieve your body scrub, it just ruins the moment! So do it... YoursTruliie Recommends Soap and Glory's FLAKE AWAY sugar scrub >
http://www.boots.com/en/Soap-Glory-Flake-Away-™-Body-Scrub-300ml_27894/
and Soap and Glory's CLEAN, GIRLS body wash for silky smooth skin!> http://www.boots.com/en/Soap-Glory-Clean-Girls™-Body-Wash-500ml_999407/

NUMBER 4. Select your favourite playlist, (Don't forget to click on Stay by Rihanna to get in your bath as glamoroursly as she does!) OR... pick out your fave page turner and get it ready next to a small hand towel close to hand when you finally get to jump into the infinity of bubbles.

NUMBER 5. For shaving YoursTruliie suggests a Venus Razor as they really do give a comfortable, silky finish and never leave open wounds that don't need even thinking about! For the cream it really is a personal choice but we would reccomend any brand that is good for 'Dry skin'. Even if you do not have dry skin because when you shave it will take some of the moisture and dead skin off as it removes the hairs and this may make you a little sore but if you do have oily skin or you just don't want to use one for dry skin the soreness can also be prevented in Step 6!
Gillette for Women Venus Razor>
http://www.boots.com/en/Gillette-For-Women-Venus-Razor_2481/

NUMBER 6. Select your fave body lotion and wack it near the sink, ready for when you are out the bath, to moisturise your skin after shaving, squeeze a dollop into your hand and just rub it in the appropriate areas to prevent that dryness coming through!

NUMBER 7. Right, I think your ready?! No? Ahh, the bubbly, yes, this time we're talking about those you'll find in a bottle! Get a glass and Happy Relaxing!

WHAT'S GEMMA WEARING?!
White Bandeau- New Look
Cross Necklace - Primark
Red Maxi skirt- Primark- BARGAIN BTW!(;
Skull Bracelet- Internationale
Bangles - They were a gift

MAKE UP

MUA Lipstick in Shade 13

- A beautiful shocking red with a slight sheen, very bold and you must be daring to wear it but VERY worth it!

Frontcover stick (discontinued)
- but it's really a basic golden/beige creme eyeshadow with a subtle shimmer. It's actually my go-to eyeshadow because the fact it's a stick just makes it so easy to apply and it's subtly makes it perfect for every day! If I find something similar in the shops I'll leave a link!

MUA pencil liner in black
-best/ cheapest liner I've come across yet!

2true Liquid liner in blackNot my favourite to be honest because you NEED to put pencil on first because if you try and do a double coat it makes a gap in the line :(

MUA Brow pencilAgain this isn't my fave just because I'm not sure if the colour is too dark for me but otherwise superb! In my opinion defining the brows is like the frame of your face and it just makes you look so much more I don't know, hmm, better? ahaa I just think it's like the icing on the cake! Accept making your makeup like a cake is not recommended... oh you get the jist!

Barbara Daly Souffle Foundation in Soft Linen
Brill! It feels so light, not cakey and doesn't turn you orange and with the right technique this stuff is also good to cover acne scarring! RESULT!

Barbara Daly Pressed Foundation in Warm IvoryWhen I applied this to Gemma's face, all she could say was 'Ooh, I like this!' over and over! I think that about sums it up, don't you?! Again, lovely, light feeling yet great coverage!

Okay my lovelies, I do hope you enjoyed that little piece, I know this is a blog and it's a more personal kind of platform but as you may know I can only dream of being a journalist printing out my articles in the glossy magazines for now so I thought I'd half live the dream here with you guys, let me know what you think of this way of interaction with you guys and I'll be back soon with more!
Thanks to Gemma for being the model for today's shoot!
